British Jigsaw Puzzle Library
“By the Slipway” is a 337-piece puzzle from the British Jigsaw Puzzle Library that measures 12 x 15 inches. According to the Library’s Dave Cooper, “It was cut by Eric Bond who in my opinion was the best cutter of non-interlocking puzzles.” Cut in a random style, the puzzle features extensive color-line cutting. The artist is British painter, Donald Greig (1916-2009). There are no missing pieces, but two pieces are excellent replacements. (I could only spot one of them.) The puzzle is in excellent condition with only light wear- a nice challenge with beautiful bright colors and fine color-line cutting. The puzzle came in a plastic bag which has been replaced with a sturdy stationery box.
This puzzle is part of an extensive collection of vintage hand-cut puzzles formerly owned by the late Ann Bohner, known on eBay as “puzzled grannie.” The collection includes both push-fit and interlocking puzzles.
