STARRY NIGHT- VINCENT VAN GOGH 500 pieces wooden jigsaw puzzle cut in June 2006. The image is of Vincent Van Gogh’s famous Starry Night! This is a beautifully cut 14″ x 11″ Finland birch plywood puzzle cut in a somewhat traditional style on a grid pattern. The pieces are cut in the somewhat traditional “nib and socket” variations we are accustom to with the cardboard puzzles, but with some double-nibs thrown in for an added level of difficulty. This also shows the skill of the cutter as these pieces measure approximately 1/2″ square. Due to the small pieces and the snug fit of the pieces, this puzzle can actually be picked up by one corner without any of the pieces falling out of the puzzle. I don’t recommend making a practice of this for reasons of not damaging the puzzle, but it can be moved or framed easily if needed. (see photo)
