I cut a 6 x 7 ½ “crazy cut” puzzle for my Mom for a Mother’s Day gift. This is the first year in decades that I will be with her on the holiday.
I cut a white border to the puzzle to make is a bit easier to assemble since Mom doesn’t really like puzzles. I also think the crazy cut may make it easier since the pieces and colors are so distinct. When finishing the puzzle, however, I found it is still more difficult than I would have expected.
I struggled a bit cutting this, as I couldn’t get the tension right on the first two blades. The third blade had the right tension, but it was so sharp, and the Okume so easy to cut, that I over cut and/or hesitated on some of the turns, and have some dead ends (very, very small) that I’m not too happy about. The finished puzzle looks fine, however.
