This little puzzle I cut for Ray & George’s holiday party as the Yankee Swap gift. I had to come up with three gifts, as Laura’s friends Eugene and Max did not have any, but wanted to participate in the swap. I gave salt & pepper shakers and an assortment of maple syrups, too. I have no idea if the recipient will even attempt to assemble the puzzle, but if so, I hope it is enjoyed.
I know that I liked cutting this little 5 x 7, 66 piece puzzle from the okume wood much better than cutting the birch. The problem with the okume is that it warps. That makes the initial cuts really difficult as the whole board rattles and vibrates with the blade. I really need to find a wood that is easy to cut and that doesn’t warp.
