“Home Team” is the title of the print used for this puzzle. The artist is Arthur J. Elsey (English, 1860-1953), famous for his paintings of Victorian and Edwardian children. The cutter is Grace W. Bartlett. Cut from solid wood, the puzzle has 242 pieces and measures 9 1/2 x 13 1/2 inches. It is a push-fit puzzle with lots of color-line cutting. It is complete, all original and in very good condition- just a little bubbling paper.
The original box is a sturdy Page and Shaw candy box, with a piece count and “Grace W. Bartlett” written on the bottom.
This puzzle is part of an extensive collection of vintage hand-cut puzzles formerly owned by the late Ann Bohner, known on eBay as “puzzled grannie.” The collection includes both push-fit and interlocking puzzles.
