“In Days of Peace – Mt. Vernon” (pict no. 252; serial no. 1779) is a 200-piece puzzle that measures 8 x 10 inches. It is an Arteno Picture Puzzle, R.T. Novelties, 24-25-26 T Wharf, Boston. The interlocking and semi-linking puzzle is cut in a random style, featuring extensive color-line cutting. There are no missing pieces, but four pieces are excellent replacements, made by expert Lisa Lee. One piece has broken in two, with both parts present. The intricately cut puzzle makes a colorful, historic scene- a rare Arteno puzzle now in fine, restored condition. The assembled puzzle fits in the tray of its sturdy original box.
This puzzle is part of an extensive collection of vintage hand-cut puzzles formerly owned by the late Ann Bohner, known on eBay as “puzzle grannie.” The collection includes both push-fit and interlocking puzzles.
