12/9/14: Went to shop and did the fairly harrowing initial cut for #923, Treescape, went well. Section the board into four sections, then did the wavy border. That all took about two hours. Tomorrow I expect to put in a substantial day of cutting Treescape.
12/10/14: Wednesday 6:11 PM- I did puzzle cutting on #923, Treescape for more than five hours almost non-stop all afternoon, cutting about 215 of the projected 750 pieces. I had hoped to make more progress than that but that’s the way it goes. Cutting is going well. My goal was to complete and ship the puzzle by Friday afternoon, that doesn’t look doable now, although I may still complete the cutting on Friday as I plan to put in substantial days of cutting Thursday and Friday. I’m reminded once again how physically demanding puzzle cutting can be!
12/11/14: Thursday 6:20 PM – Puzzle cutting marathon continues. I was at the shop today for about 7 1/2 hours with about 6 1/2 hours of the time working on Puzzle #923, Treescape. I made substantial progress although the cutting rate remained about the same. I cut about 260 pieces bringing the total to around 475. I’m currently projecting a total of about 760, so it would take a very long day to complete the cutting tomorrow. My current goal is to get everything done with shipping on Monday morning.
12/12/14: Friday 5:27 PM -I put in about 4 1/2 hours of cutting today, coming close to but not completing puzzle #923, Treescape. I cut about 187 more pieces bringing the total to around 662. Cutting continues to go well and fortunately there have been no voids encountered in the ApplePly I’m using for the wood. It was cold in the shop, 61 when I arrived and with a space heater managed to get it to the high 60’s by the time I left. A much needed rainstorm kept the usual sun away, which normally provides nice passive solar heat in winter here. No cutting tomorrow as I’ll be away, maybe I’ll complete it on Sunday.
12/13/14: Saturday 5:35 PM – I juggled my schedule around today and was able to spend most of the afternoon on the Puzzle #923, Treescape. I finished the cutting in around two hours of work. Then took photos, brought it home, took the puzzle apart inspecting each piece. Final piece count 778. Will ship on Monday. Will have pictures of #923 here, later. I also decided that “Treescape” is better than “Tree Scape” and have retroactively updated this page.
