Here is a second method for making replacement pieces. This method should only be attempted if you are confident in your cutting skills, as a cutting mistake could damage the original puzzle pieces. Note that the attached video is nearly 4 minutes long. The total time to make the replacement piece was around an hour: 15 minutes to prep, 10 to cut and about 35 minutes to color the piece.
