78 pieces.  I had a scrap of the Michael’s wood from the “Kelly” puzzle, so decided to try my hand at cutting figural/ whimsy pieces.  The bird, butterfly and dog I traced from pieces of a Victory Artistic puzzle I’ve got.  I free hand drew the ‘s’, heart and flower.  I used rubber cement to put the paper on the wood before cutting.  Learned to make sure the whole template is glued down, as the edges of the paper vibrate a ton.  For my first try, I think I did quite well with the cutting.  After the puzzle was cut, I sanded it and then painted it.  Just like “Bluebird” I decided to use shades of two colors.  After the paint dried a couple of coats of Krylon spray sealed the pieces really well.  I plan to take this one to work for a bit so everyone can see the progress I’ve made.
